Oil on panel
Some sample photos of my first sculpture. I won the second place Award of Excellence in Ceramics and the Figurative Sculpture award for this piece at the Annual Juried show at Florida State College. I promise to get better photos taken of this piece as soon as I can. I finished it over a month ago but it was put into a gallery almost immediately and I just got it back today!
My first three colorgraph prints ever. Sorry for poor photo quality.
-Only 2% -17% of the artwork represented in galleries and museums today is created by women, yet many art schools indicate that more than 50% of their students are women.
-As of 2011, Only 8 percent of the work that the Museum of Modern Art exhibits is by women.

So this was a massive oil painting I had started last semester. I think something like 8ft by 4ft. I spent a couple weeks on it before deeming it a waste of time and materials. This is the only photo I have of it, sitting outside my apartment complex dumpster. It did not sit long though, a neighbor saw me putting it out and quickly commandeered it, but not before commissioning me to do some portrait work for him. I am only glad someone is enjoying it, I began to fear it would drive me mad.
So… tonight I was kinda awarded Second Place Award of Excellence in Ceramics and the Patricial Cardinal Figurative Sculpture Award.
Both on my first and only completed sculpture! :D
I just really wanted to share that with someone
